What is ALS and What Options Are there for Senior Care?

ALS is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, more commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that begins to destroy nerve cells in the brain as well as the spinal cord. When these nerve cells are destroyed, they can no longer carry signals from the brain to different parts of the body, especially muscles.
